Email Settings

Find it Quickly: Settings > Email settings

Your email settings use an SMTP system. This means that when customers create a profile, the confirmation email that is sent to them can be automated. For more information about the SMTP system, click here.

How do email settings work?

By default, all emails are sent via the Reactive email servers. However, you are advised to set up your own SMTP server settings or our Gmail API integration so that any transactional emails are sent via your own email server.

To do that, fill in all the required fields of your email settings and click submit. If your settings are correct you will receive an automated email informing you that your settings are correct.

Why do I need email settings and for what are they used?

Your email settings are used to send all automated transactional emails of your Reactive website.

Gmail API Integration

If your business is running on Google Business or you would like to use your gmail account to send emails to your customers you will have to authorize your Google account in order for Reactive to be able to send emails on your behalf.

We have prepared an easy video to walk you through the process of authorizing your Google Account easily.

More specifically
  1. Navigate to Settings > Email settings
  2. From the drop down menu choose "Gmail API"
  3. Once you do you will see a button that says Grant Access which you have to click.
  4. This will redirect you to Google in order to choose the account you would like to allow access for sending emails. Choose your account. You might be also prompt to use your password for the respective account.
  5. In the next screen click Continue
  6. This will redirect you back your admin panel where a successful green flash message will be shown at the top right informing you that the integration is ready and your account is connected.

What is TLS?

For more information about the TLS (transport layer security), click here.

Based on the above, here are the two options in simple words:

If the TLS Auto option is checked, the security process provided by the TLS will be automated.

If the TLS Auto option is unchecked, the security process provided by the TLS will not be automated.

What is SSL?

It is another security process named Secure Socket Layer. For more information about SSL, click here

Note
that we recommend you use a secure connection because emails can be filtered
into spam because of a firewall.
