How to connect my domain to Reactive?

Find it Quickly: Settings > Domain

This article will guide you on how to connect your domain name with your Reactive website. The process is fairly simple and only requires a few steps.

Connecting your Domain to Reactive

Connecting your third-party domain to Reactive points your domain name at your Reactive website. This means that when someone enters your custom URL into their web browser, it takes them to your website. You still use the third-party domain provider to manage your domain settings, pay for your domain, and renew it.

Set up your existing domain to connect to your Reactive online website

If you've purchased your domain through a third party, then you need to edit the following DNS settings:

  • Your A record of your root domain should point to Reactive's IP address, which is 35.198.178.130
  • Your A record for www should point to Reactive IP address, which is 35.198.178.130

Editing these domain settings might have an effect on other things, such as email forwarding. You can contact your domain provider to find out how any changes might affect your DNS settings.

TypeName
Content
TTL
A@ (or blank)
35.198.178.130
auto
Awww
35.198.178.130
auto

Note
You can only have one A record associated with your primary domain. If your domain is already associated with an A record when you edit your DNS settings to point your A record to Reactive IP address, then remove the old A record.

Steps:

  1. Log in to the account you have with your domain provider.
  2. Find your DNS settings. Look for your domain management area, DNS configuration, or similar.
  3. Edit the A record of your root domain and point it to Reactive IP address, which is 35.198.178.130
  4. Edit the A record for www and point it to Reactive IP address, which is 35.198.178.130

The domain settings panel might feature drop-downs or editable fields, or you might have to check boxes or edit a table. You need to:

  • enter or choose the @ symbol or A record
  • enter Reactive IP address 35.198.178.130 as the destination for the A record.
Save the A Record (click Save, Save Zone File, Add Record, or similar).
  • enter www to the A record
  • enter Reactive IP address 35.198.178.130 as the destination for the A record.
Save the A Record (click Save, Save Zone File, Add Record, or similar).

Third-party domain providers

If you own a domain from one of the following providers, then click the link to get specific instructions for connecting your domain:

SSL Certificates

All Reactive plans include a Free SSL Certificate for your domain. However, you can upload your own SSL Certificate if you are a customer of the Enterprise Plan.

To add your own SSL Certificate you need to:

  • Navigate to domain settings (Settings > Domain)
  • Copy and paste your SSL Certificate to the SSL Crt text area. Your domain certificate ends with .crt. For example, reactive.crt.
  • Copy and paste your SSL Key to the SSL Key text area. Your domain key ends with .key. For example, reactive.key.
  • Copy and paste your SSL Ca Bundle to the SSL ca-bundle text area. Your domain ca-bundle ends with .ca-bundle. For example, reactive.ca-bundle.

Once you upload your certificates the process for adding your Custom SSL Certificate will be initiated. It usually takes up to 24 hours for our team to set up your domain's SSL Certificate. Your Reactive account holder (Super Admin) will receive an email once the process is complete.

Note
Once you submit your SSL crt & key the fields will be locked until your SSL Certificate is set up in  Reactive servers. Please make sure you enter the correct files.
