Migrating to Google Analytics 4

In order to begin collecting data for your website, it is necessary to possess a Google Analytics account and create a Google Analytics 4 property. Following that, you can set up the Google Measurement ID on your Reactive website. This will enable you to easily integrate Google Analytics tracking and measurement capabilities into your website, allowing you to gather valuable data and insights.



To migrate from Universal Analytics to Google Analytics 4, follow these steps:


  1. Create a GA4 property in your Google Analytics account.

  2. Add Google Measurement ID to your Reactive website.



1. Create a GA4 property


In order to create a Google Analytics 4 property, it is necessary to have the editor role assigned to your Google Analytics account. To migrate to GA4, you need to create a Google Analytics 4 property. After creating your GA4 property, proceed to create a web data stream. Then, make sure to copy the Measurement ID as you will need it for step 2.

How to locate the Google Measurement ID


Your Google Measurement ID is a unique identifier that connects your website to Google Analytics. It allows you to track and analyze user interactions and behavior. To locate your Google Measurement ID just follow these steps:

  • Sign in to your Google Analytics account

  • Go to your Google Analytics 4 property and click on “Admin” on the bottom left.

  • Under “Property,” click “Data streams.”

  • Click on “Web.”

  • Click on your web data stream name.

  • Your measurement ID is in the top right.


2. Add Google Measurement ID to your Reactive website


To add the Google Measurement ID to your Reactive website, follow these steps:

  1. Visit your admin panel, select Settings and navigate to the General settings.
  2. In the Store configurations section add the Google Measurement ID.
  3. Click the "Save" button at the top right of your screen.
