How to start selling your products on Facebook

How to start selling your products on Facebook

We have created a short guide in order to help you integrate your Reactive Retail with Facebook.

Before you start reading this guide make sure you have enabled the Facebook sales channel and generated the feed at least once. To do that, visit the Sales Channels section of your admin panel (Settings > Sales channels).

In order to start selling your products through Facebook, you need to have an active Facebook page or create a new one. To do that, visit the pages section of Facebook to create a new page or choose an existing one here: https://www.facebook.com/pages

1. Once you visit your page, choose the "Manage Shop" link from the left panel and then click on the Go to commerce manager button.

2. In the next step, choose Your Website and proceed to the next step.

3. In the next step, choose the page you would like your products to be listed.

4. In the next step, set a name for your account. The name will not be visible to your customers. It is mandatory to have a business account in order to start selling your products on Facebook. If you do not have a Facebook business account, please follow the official guide from Facebook in order to create one.

5. In the next step, choose the page. Usually the page will be pre-selected.

6. In this step, review your settings, accept the Facebook merchant agreement and click on the Create your shop button.

7. Once you are done, click on the data sources under Catalogue from your left panel on Facebook. Then click on the Add products button from the top right of your screen.

8. From this screen, choose Bulk Upload and then click next.

9. From this screen, choose the Scheduled feed option and then click next.

10. In the next step, paste the feed URL of your XML feed. You can find the link of your XML feed from your Sales Channels settings of your admin panel. Through this step, you can also define the username and password of your feed so that Facebook can access your feed via its authentication system. We have prepared a detailed guide here on how to set password authentication for your feeds on Facebook & Google feeds. Once you are done setting up these settings, click next.

11. From this step, you can define the scheduling of the updates on Facebook. Facebook allows you to set hourly, daily and weekly updates of your XML feed. We strongly recommend that you set an hourly scheduling so that your products are always in sync. Enable the Add automatic updates option.

12. Finally, choose a name for your data source (usually the name of your store or the URL) and then choose your currency from the list of currencies.

Depending on the size of your XML feed (the amount of products) it might take some time for Facebook to import your products. Wait for a few minutes and then visit the Shop section of your Facebook page to see your products.

That's it! You are now all set in order to start selling your products on Facebook.
